The Clerkenwell Grind, London: An Instagrammable Brunch

If you’ve ever Googled “the most instagrammable restaurants in London” (which I unashamedly have), then there’s no doubt you’ve already discovered the Clerkenwell Grind. Located in the heart of London, they’ve taken an old warehouse and converted it into possibly one of the cutest café/restaurants I’ve ever seen. I fell in love with the dusty pink and navy blue interior from when I stepped in and, coupled with the palm trees, marble tables and gold details, it felt like something curated for an Instagram feed!

With places this beautiful, however, I can’t help but question how good the food will be. They may have put in a lot of effort into the decor, but did they do the same with their menu? Usually the answer to that is a solid “no”, but I was pleasantly surprised when I tried my dish. They definitely did! The food was amazing, and the green smoothies we ordered (as per a recommendation from one of their uber friendly staff members) was even better.

I ordered smashed avo on toast with two poached eggs, because I’m incredibly basic. For the first time in months though, I had major food envy when I tried my friends’ meals. If you go, I 1000% recommend the sweet potato harissa cakes (top left) – they were absolutely amazing! I’ll definitely be returning for those.

Because we’re incredibly Insta-conscious (what a lovely way to put it), we couldn’t resist trying the beetroot latte that we saw on the menu. After the awesome recommendation from the waitress to try the green smoothie, we were absolutely sold when she recommended that too! Unfortunately, as beautiful as it was (and it really really was stunning), it tasted more like hot milk than of anything else. Disappointing, maybe, but still incredibly Instagrammable.

All in all, I absolutely loved the Clerkenwell Grind! The decor is stunning (and I will definitely be borrowing this colour scheme to decorate my house one day), the food is awesome and the staff were friendly. The restaurant had a great vibe as well, and it really created the kind of atmosphere where you’d want to spend your Sunday morning. This will definitely be a frequented location for me for brunch dates! I love it.
